Energy Data Gathering and Reporting

To assist agencies manage their reporting requirements, the Sustainable Energy Development Office has obtained access to a national reporting software tool, known as OSCAR (Online System for Comprehensive Activity Reporting). OSCAR was introduced to the program in July 2007 and replaces the EDGAR (Energy Data Gathering and Reporting) software. OSCAR is a centralised web based reporting and benchmarking tool that enables agencies to enter and submit data online to meet the reporting requirements of the Energy Smart Government policy. The information gathered is used to monitor and report performance in a nationally consistent manner and collate data for a whole of government report for the Minister to table in Parliament.

The website address is: https://www.oscar.gov.au. If you do not have a user name and password and you need to access OSCAR, in the first instance contact the Energy Executive for your agency. If this approach is unsuccessful, contact the Sustainable Energy Development Office's OSCAR Help Desk.

An introductory user manual (PDF 812 KB) for navigating the OSCAR system has been developed by the Sustainable Energy Development Office to provide basic guidance for energy reporters.

If additional advice is required, assistance is available through the Help Desk.
